Clear terms, clean work
The terms that apply when using the 12 Bit Studios website, booking a session, or purchasing photography and cinematography services.
Using this website
You may use this website to review the studio’s work, request information, reserve eligible sessions, make approved payments, and access material shared with you. You may not interfere with the website, attempt unauthorized access, submit false or unlawful information, misuse private gallery links, or use the service in a way that harms the studio, its clients, or its providers.
Bookings and project agreements
A self-service session is reserved only after Checkout confirms the selected deposit or full session payment and the studio’s system records the reservation. An enquiry, proposal discussion, unpaid Checkout Session, or temporary availability hold is not a confirmed booking.
Commercial, event, cinematography, multi-day, and other custom work may require a separate proposal or agreement. If a signed project agreement conflicts with these website terms, the signed agreement controls for that project.
Pricing and payment
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. The booking page identifies the session total and lets you choose the listed deposit or full session payment. When the deposit is selected, the balance is due on the session date unless a written agreement says otherwise. Studio rental, permits, travel, assistants, special production costs, taxes, and requested extras may be additional when disclosed before they are incurred.
Scheduling, cancellation, and delivery
The current rescheduling, cancellation, late-arrival, weather, refund, archive, and studio-rental rules are part of the Booking Policy presented before payment. Self-service portrait delivery is no later than 14 business days; custom productions follow their written proposal. Image count, revision scope, usage rights, and other project-specific details may also appear in the selected package, proposal, invoice, or written agreement.
Creative work and intellectual property
Unless a written agreement provides otherwise, 12 Bit Studios retains copyright in photographs, films, edits, designs, and other creative work. Client delivery grants the usage rights stated in the package or agreement. You may not sell, materially alter, remove credits or watermarks from, train an artificial-intelligence system on, or commercially license delivered work beyond those rights without written permission.
The studio will not publicly use private client work merely because it was delivered through a gallery. Portfolio, editorial, advertising, or promotional use follows the applicable written agreement, release, or permission.
Client responsibilities
- Provide accurate contact, scheduling, location, access, and project information.
- Obtain permissions for locations, participants, property, wardrobe, music, or materials you supply when required.
- Arrive on time and communicate material changes promptly.
- Keep private gallery links, access codes, and download files reasonably secure.
- Back up delivered files after download and use them within the agreed licence.
Service availability and responsibility
We work to keep the website and delivery systems reliable, but they may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, provider outages, security response, or circumstances beyond reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot legally be limited. To the extent permitted by law, responsibility for a claim connected with a paid service is limited to the amount paid for the affected service, except where a signed agreement or applicable law requires otherwise.
Law, changes, and contact
These website terms are governed by the laws of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update them as services change; the version accepted at the time of a confirmed booking remains part of that booking. Questions may be sent to tobif@12bitstudios.com.
